Carrie Fisher, also known as Princess Leia in Star Wars suffered a massive heart attack on an airplane on Friday night.
It is reported that she was on a United flight from London to LAX when she went into cardiac arrest. Many people tried giving her CPR but she was still “unresponsive” once they landed. The incident happened nearly 15 minutes before the plane landed in L.A. Luckily there was a medical personnel and an EMT on board the plane who helped.
Witnesses at LAX tell us Carrie’s eyes were closed and she appeared unconscious as EMTs rushed her through the terminal. She had an oxygen mask on her face.
Carrie is now located at the hospital, and is on “assisted breathing”, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Her brother, Todd Fisher, said she was receiving excellent care in hospital but that he could not classify her condition.
“We have to wait and be patient,” he said. “We have so little information ourselves.”
He told Variety: “She’s in the intensive care unit and everybody’s praying for her. There’s nothing new from the doctors. There’s nothing new at all. … There’s no good news or bad news.”
