Mexico fireworks market blast kills at least 27 dead

Just before 3.PM, Dozens of people were injured and killed in a firework explosion in the San Pablito fireworks market, about 20 miles outside the city.

The video shows thousands of fireworks exploding high into the sky as emergency services quickly arrive and try to help injured.

The cause of the explosions is not yet known. Locals have been told to avoid the area and keep roads clear.

Civil-protection sources have reported that at least 27 people have died in the explosions.

The cloud of smoke created by the blasts reached a width of more than a 1,000 square meters, according to El Universal, and was floating south.

This incident is similar to the events that took place in 2006/2007, there were multiple explosions that destroyed the entire market. Security measures were introduced to avoid something like this happening again.
