35 People Killed in Istanbul Nightclub Attack

Early Sunday, Two men dressed in Santa Claus costumes walked into a Istanbul nightclub and open fired, initial reports by Turkish media say that as many as 30 people were wounded.

The nightclub was packed with people celebrating New Year’s Eve. Up to 600 people were inside the Reina nightclub at the time of the shooting, it is believed.

Minutes before the attacker got inside the Nightclub, it is reported that he shot and killed a police officer.

Several videos posted on Social Media show emergency services being rushed to the scene to help the wounded.

Istanbul and Akara have been targeted by several attacks in 2016 carried out by Islamic State group or Kurdish rebels.
